The writer is an Executive Director of War Against Injustice, lamented over the poor of execution of some projects allocated to all 24 federal Constituencies of Kano State.

He said that in his interview at Arewa Radio 93.1 FM in one Program tagged " Shirin Diddigi"

He further said

"The tracking of Constituency projects  conducted by War Against Injustice confirms that there is poor execution of some Projects in terms of quality and quantity delivery thus Constituency Projects are ways of frauding  Citizens and Promoting Corruption."

He gave an example with  Minjibir/Ungogo and Nassarawa Local Governments where at Ungogo they discovered the same Projects with different amounts and project codes and also at Nassarawa some of the solar-pump is not work since its construction.

The people of Nigeria are suffering  from the greed of our representatives since the transited democracy of  1999 till to date.

There's report showed that in the last 10 years, the Federal Government Of Nigeria has spent N1 trillion on Constituency Projects across the country.

Nevertheless, there is no visible and impact on the lives and welfare of the masses.

There is abandoned projects, and some of the projects are not correspond with  huge amount spent in terms of quality and Service delivery and also some of them had not even started.

"In my humble view that, the lawmakers are initiated themselves in the execution of projects with view to benefit in looting public funds like executive arm. Because, section 4, 5 and 6 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria had divided the powers among the 3 arms of Government which the execution of projects are not within the legislative arm.

Thus, the legislative arm has crossed the line between lawmaking and executive functions.

We need to abolish the Constituency Projects due to the lack of delivery in order to save public fund or follow the following advice.

The active involvement of the people in the identification of their projects and allow the civil society Organizations, Anti-Corruption agencies and the public to monitor the projects to ensure quality and quantity service delivery and also the members of the public are mandatory to them to hold these products accountable.
